Canada Drives
Successful Advertising
CASE STUDY TWO
Canada Drives:
Successful Social Media Campaigns
Background:
Canada Drives is an auto financial company. They offer different payment options regardless of credit score. The company is a hub, they provide financial options and connect people to local car dealerships through a simple online application that must fill out in order to start the process.
Challenge:
Decrease cost per lead and per click-through in social media campaigns.
Solutions:
During the time I worked with the Canada Drives team, I had the freedom to design and test ad ideas that eventually turned into complete and successful social media campaigns. The key to success was "experimentation" and "feedback". Every single design decision had a reason and was based on data provided by the social media managers. Once a design showed good results, it was adapted to every channel including Google AdWords, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
My job was not only to visuals but propose conceptual ideas and even copies that work all together. Attached are some examples of designs I created that were used as a reference point for other campaigns. The work was monitored by the marketing department, the art director, and the CEO.
2D Animation:
Depending on the project I conceptualized and produced motion graphic videos with vectorial illustrations. These animations took into consideration brand guidelines without compromising the animation speed and motion. This project was used in social media in October 2017.
3D Animation:
I proposed 3D animations to test and approach customers in a different way. 3D animation looks modern and is challenging for competitors to copy. This is why I regularly proposed campaigns that required 3D animation. This project was made in Maya, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere.
YouTube Animations:
Animations for YouTube pre-roll were part of our daily tasks at Canada Drives. This project specifically required 3D animations and advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects. I was in charge of the motion graphics, video, and sound editing. This project was developed in September 2017. Click or tap to play the video.
Logo Animation for Conferences:
Aside from creating animations for social media, I was asked to propose animations for different uses. For example, the one below consisted of a logo reveal which was used before and after speeches during a conference held by Canada Drives in 2019. The animation objective was to create an atmosphere while people had a break. If you are on a mobile open this link to watch the video.
Newsletter Designs:
My job at Canada Drives was to design all source and promotional materials; one of them was the monthly newsletter design which was sent to subscribers. Below is just one example of the many materials I designed for the company over 5 years - which were highly effective, I helped Canada Drives become one of the most successful advertisers in Canada.
I had the opportunity to work for Canada Drives, which is a company that helps thousands of Canadians purchase a vehicle by offering auto finance options for people with good, bad, or no credit. Canada Drives has an online application with different sources and animations. My job was to design, prepare, and animate many components of the website, taking into consideration loading speed and functionality. The mock-up below is from the 2019 version of the app.
Results:
Over 5 years I developed several ideas that generated thousands of leads helping the company reach over 1 million applications (leads by 2020). The success was a result of great teamwork between the marketing and design department which I was actively part of.
Our job was recognized by Facebook (see official link here) with the poll ad platform. In this specific project, I contributed by proposing different concepts, selecting suitable images, animating the interface used in the videos, and building different versions which ended up boosting click-through and engagement. The results were so outstanding that Facebook built a case study.
