TYPOGRAPHY
Custom Font:
The Gastown Font is a stylish serif typography inspired by one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Vancouver: Gastown. It was designed by identifying unique characteristics on the street such as lamp posts and its beloved whistling Steam Clock.

TYPOGRAPHY
Posts for Social Media:
I designed materials for all of Canada Drives's social media channels. The example below was built for the celebration of Thanksgiving in 2016. It reflects the usage of 3D and typography.

Anniversary Logotypes:
Part of my daily job was also the design of co-branded logos. This is one proposed logotype to the 60th anniversary of Toyota in Central America. The work was supervised by the advertising agency La Clinica/ TBWA.
Toyota Advertising:
Traditional and Online Advertising:
As a Visual Communicator and brand designer for the advertising agency La Clinica\ TBWA, I created several promotional materials for Toyota -Didea Central America, and other companies in the same industry.
BRANDING
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Newspaper Brand Identity:
The Guardian was a proposed newspaper with ecological focus. The project included the brand identity, advertising, and publishing layout for mobile platform and font selection, among other things.

Movistar Advertising
Brand Management:
I had the opportunity to work for Movistar Central America, a multinational Spanish mobile phone operator. I was responsible for the design, drafting, and layout of a wide variety of promotional printed and online materials, including daily newspaper advertisements. All these materials were required to follow the strict guidelines of the brand book for Movistar, and had to be approved by the headquarters in Spain, as well as other stakeholders. This was one of my roles while with Rivera & Rivera agency in September 2013.

Creative support for campaigns:
Aside of building materials, I had to creatively support the design team by providing ideas. For example, this design was the face of a nation-wide campaign. It was used in every single material from billboards to Google advertising. The theme was "The Great Movistar Festival".

GRAPHIC DESIGN
Photography Book:
Book Design:
"Flor de la Vida" (Flower of Life) is a book that contains the history and most representative scenes of Panchimalco, an old town located in Central America. The project included the creation of a logo, photographs taken by myself, and preparing working files to the print shop.
Hand Fan:
The book included a fan and rosary. As such, I designed a hand-held fan with both of these features. One: is to be used as a fan to help people cool down during hot summers. And two: as a rosary to keep the number of prayers in the right sequence. This product is meant for church-goers and religious individuals.

PRODUCT DESIGN
3D Printed Packaging Design
One skill that sets me apart from other designers is my ability to use 3D printers in the design of the packaging.
With the right tools and knowledge, I have developed a way to produce these ring boxes. They are made of resin, are low cost, easy to reproduce, and personalized with the Verso Handcrafts monogram. The intention is to deliver a luxurious feel.

GRAPHIC DESIGN
Innovative Packaging Design
Fast Food Packaging:
Hot & Spicy was a local fast-food restaurant located in San Salvador. This project required the creation of packages for sandwiches, salads, and sweets. The boxes are inspired by flames. The blueprints were also effective in terms of production and design. Furthermore, I was responsible for developing their brand identity.

The design was functionally elegant, and only needed glue to assemble. By the time it was proposed, the client considered it highly creative, innovative, and economical.

As with the example above, these boxes were designed by taking into consideration time, costs, and complexity. It is a brilliant design.

Seasonal Retail Packaging:
Another example of packaging design, this set was inspired by New York City. The shapes and the structure of each box evoke the outline of the One World Trade Center, the most iconic, futuristic, and tallest building in Manhattan
3D DESIGN
3D Used In Advertising
This a full-page advertisement designed for the December 2021 Costco Connect magazine, which is mailed to millions of members across the USA. The basic structure was built in 3D by using a combination of software such as Blender, Adobe Dimensions, and Adobe Photoshop. The most challenging aspect was to place a blanket in the scene because it required specific lighting and position. See below the 3D structure. Editing and 3D modeling were made by myself, it is part of my daily work at PNI Digital Media (Staples inc.).
3D DESIGN
Product Imagery for E-Commerce
Part of my job at Staples.Inc was to update the content of Costco’s photo center, which requires accurate descriptions and appealing product imagery for any visitor. To achieve that, I use 3D programs such as Blender. The challenge for this project was 3D modeling products and finding the right color tones and proportions of the real products sold by Costco.

3D DESIGN
3D Animation Used in Advertising
The following video was completely made in 3D with Blender from scratch. This animation did not require a lot of motion, but it did require attention to details such as the thickness of cards, the effect of light reflecting on a surface, etc. The project is part of my daily work at Staples inc.

3D DESIGN
Apple Watch Concept
To keep myself creative sometimes, I re-design products, for example, the Apple Watch. My inspiration for this concept was sapphires, I reshaped the body of the watch in a way that mimics the most popular cuts for sapphires. The project was created in Autodesk Maya.

WEB DESIGN
Being able to use 3D software has opened a door to design possibilities. I designed a landing page with 3D components that look playful and are very impactful. The project was done by using Blender. The page has been decommissioned but below are the interactive 3D blocks used and a link to the wireframe.
3D Applied to Web Design

3D Used in Web
Fresh Start Finance is an online application that offers personal loans to Canadians. Its website has a clean and minimalist design. My job was to animate certain elements and assets that are being used in the site such as the laptop animation. The project required knowledge of Maya, Adobe Premiere, and After Effects.

This project was developed in the summer of 2017 with the supervision of an Art Director. This is an example of teamwork where every individual contributed to the improvement of the website.
